‘Earth’ is the first painting from the ‘Wüste Erde’ (Desert Earth) diptychon. (See also ‘Desert‘.)
Earth portrays various parts of plants on soil, intermingle with oil as well as a ‘thought-logo’ for the purpose of the earth-subject.
The earth is painted ochre and brown, in contrast to the blue background of water and sky. The black lines have just arisen spontaneously during Anaisis’ work. Only later, she discovered that the black lines resulted altogether into a ‘tree of life’.
The tree of life is a symbol for life and the appertaining lifespan.
